Slant Festival Drive-in this weekend!

Drive, which had its online premiere on Atom Films last fall (drive.atomfilms.com), will now have its festival premiere at the Slant Film Festival in Houston this weekend, May 30-June 1.

The eighth annual Slant is an eclectic showcase of the best in emerging Asian American cinema. Slant combats tired stereotypes of Asian Americans with quirky comedies, compelling visions, and fresh perspectives on the Asian American experience.

Drive will be screening in the opening night program at 8 p.m. at the Aurora Picture Show, 800 Aurora St, Houston, TX.

Me at 01SJ June 4-8

Me will be at the 01SJ festival in San Jose, CA, the biennial global festival of art on the edge (www.zero1.org) next week as part of the Future Films program. Future Films presents a broad range of innovative work in the realm of the moving image, including machinima films, animations, DIY Hollywood productions, cell phone films, Second Life vignettes, mash-ups, and fan films from around the world.

Short "Future Films" will be part of an ongoing presentation at the Camera 12 Cinemas throughout the festival for drop-in viewing.

Drive launches on Atom Films

Drive, the new short film from Ahree Lee, launches on Atom Films today. One year and 800 miles in the making, this experimental take on driving turns multiple trips on the same road into a transcendant experience. Soundtrack by Supreme Fiction, the electro-acoustic duo of Nathan Melsted, who composed the soundtrack for Me, and Matt Fish.
